Crystal River, Florida -- The Board of County Commissioners unanimously authorized county staff to replace both water boilers at the Citrus County Detention Facility.
Right now, the facility is working off one boiler after a mechanical issue shut down one of the two boilers in the old section of the jail a few weeks ago.
Both boilers were installed with the original jail construction. Assistant County Administrator Ken Frink asked board members to authorize $170,000 to replace both boilers.
The broken boiler would be replaced and then once that is completed, the second boiler would be replaced due to old age.
