Lu the Hippo's Birthday celebration Friday
Homosassa, Florida -- Lu the Hippo will be celebrating his 53rd birthday on Friday, Jan. 25.
Celebrations for Lu's birthday will be at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park.
Park Rangers will present the hippo with a special birthday cake while visitors, staff and local school children sing Happy Birthday to this popular park resident.
