Tampa Bay Rays baseball trip

Crystal River, Florida --  Citrus County's Home Delivered Meals Program and the Senior Foundation of Citrus County are scheduling trips to the Tampa Bay Rays Baseball games. 

Tickets are $45 each and include round-trip chartered bus transportation from the Citrus County Resource Center to Tropicana Field in Saint Petersburg and admission/seating at the game. 

The next one is taking place on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. 

The game will be against the New York Yankees and starts at 7:10pm.  Call 352-527-5975 for more information.

Citrus County, Florida-- The Key Training Center’s Who’s on First and Florida Premier Prospects, in conjunction with Citrus County Parks and Recreation, are proud to present Super Series Baseball Tournaments- one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing Baseball Organizations. 

The “Qualifying” tournaments will be held at Citrus County’s Bicentennial Park in Crystal River, Florida on Saturday, March 30 through Sunday, March 31 and then on Saturday, June 15 through Sunday, June 16.

Citrus County, Florida-- The Parks and Recreation Department within the Board of County Commissioners announced Friday its plans to move in a new direction. 

After a reorganization of the department, they plan to bring new and exciting events to Citrus County!

Staff is striving to bring national tournaments to the area such as lacrosse, soccer, softball, fishing and baseball.  Cheerleading, BMX and 4-H Drill team competitions could also be in the future.

Citrus Co., FL-- Citrus County Parks & Recreation along with Dr. Fred Spurlock are offering Ballroom dancing classes at the Citrus County Canning Center in Lecanto on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  

So, put on your dancing shoes and swing on over to Canning Center for your first lesson with their brand new dance instructor, Dr. Fred Spurlock.

17th Annual Citrus Stampede Rodeo this weekend

Crystal River, Florida -- The 17th Annual Citrus Stampede Rodeo is coming to the Citrus County Fairgrounds in Inverness this weekend! 

Shows start Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m.  Gates open at 5:30 p.m.  Come early to enjoy mechanical bull riding, great food, kids’ games and pony rides and plenty of vendor merchandise to buy.

Crystal River, FL-- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will offer a FREE Women's Fishing Clinic this coming Saturday. 

"Participants will not only take home a lifelong hobby, they will leave with a new appreciation for the marine environment. They will learn the basics of environmental stewardship, fishing ethics, angling skills, safety and the vulnerability of Florida’s marine ecosystems in a fun, laid-back learning atmosphere," explains a release about the clinic.

Citrus "Haunted" Hills 5k Fun Run

Citrus County, FL-- Calling all runners and walkers! The Citrus "Haunted" Hills 5K Fun Run and one-mile walk is set to take place on Saturday, October 27 in Tierra Verde. 

Runners can register in advance for $20, or the day of for $25. Citrus Road Runners and Citrus Hills members may pre-register for a discounted rate of $18, and children can sign up for just $12. All proceeds will benefit the Citrus Memorial Health System Heart Center.
